To share Christ’s love through our faith & service

Star of the Sea (Stella Maris) is a favourite title which mariners have bestowed on the Blessed Virgin Mary whose protection they have always trusted. The title depicts Mary as a beacon to mariners. The name Star of the Sea is aptly applied to Mary, for just as a star emits rays without diminishing its brightness, so the Son is born of the Virgin without changing her integrity.

Welcome to our visitors

"Nau mai ki to matou hapori"  -  Welcome to our Parish
If this is the first time you have visited our site or you are looking for a vibrant Catholic faith community to call home, we welcome you to Our Lady Star of the Sea, Howick. We are a multi-cultural community that strives to create strong bonds for all of its members through worship, service, community building and education. We provide programmes and ministries that seek to bring people together and help to create a diverse community. This is important to help meet every member’s spiritual needs.

"Uru mai ki a matou i to maatau haere"  -  Join  us on our Journey
Our passion is to facilitate the transformation of parishioners along their spiritual journey. We stir the embers within. We continue to nurture and grow the flame of faith, so that they may, in turn, help to pass the flame along to others.
