Our nationwide Church Life Survey of New Zealand took place in Aug 2018, the same year as the national Census. The Survey provided a snapshot of the church in New Zealand, and enables us to compare the Church with information provided by the 2018 Census. The Survey has provided valuable information for the local Church, including trends that are taking place. Apart from the demographic questions, the survey was also an attitudinal one. The questions asked how people feel about belonging to their Church and their Parish, what they most valued, and asked the same questions about their faith. Questions were asked about outreach into the community and community involvement. All of this data provides tools for the Parish and the Parish Pastoral Council to plan and to meet the expressed needs of our parishioners.
486 out of a typical congregation of 800 replied. I.e. most of the adult churchgoers.
