Outreach

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord's favour.”  (Luke 4:18-19)

As baptized Christians in the Catholic Church, we believe that our membership in the Body of Christ is defined by how we treat each other.
Catholic's overwhelmingly understand that helping the poor… the outcast, the marginalized, those without sufficient food and care… is central to our Christian living. Jesus’ parables and miracles call us to this building up of God’s kingdom where all will have enough.

St Vincent de Paul Society
The SVDP assists families and individuals in need with budgeting advice, financial assistance, food vouchers or parcels and the provision of furniture. We meet every alternate Wednesday at 10:15am in the Parish Centre.

Foodbank
Organised by the St Vincent de Paul Society our Parish Foodbank assists those in need by encouraging parishioners to donate food items or vouchers for distribution. Donations of food are placed in the wicker baskets in the church before each Sunday Mass or at other times.

Justice and Peace Group
We are committed to developing a better understanding of current social issues in the light of the Gospel and Catholic teaching, and to respond to justice and peace issues nationally and internationally.
